🔋 iPhone Power Survival Guide: 5 lazy hacks to keep your battery charged all day (even on the craziest days)

Hey Reader! 👋

For this tutorial, I’m going to show you 5 lazy iPhone hacks to extend your battery life throughout the day.

😖 The issue

As a parent, your iPhone is probably your lifeline.

I know mine is.

It's for managing family schedules, staying connected, and capturing memories. But, nothing is more frustrating than seeing a "Low Battery" alert halfway through a busy day.

Here’s a simple guide to keeping your iPhone charged all day long — so you’re not always hunting for a charger on the go!

👇 Give it a try

📉 1. Turn Down the Brightness to Save Power

Why It’s Important

A bright screen may look nice, but it’s also one of the biggest battery drainers. Lowering the brightness saves a lot of power and helps your battery last longer.

How to Do It

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
  2. Move the brightness slider down to about 30-40%.
  3. For automatic brightness change, go to Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on True Tone.

🌙 2. Use Dark Mode

Why It’s Important

Dark Mode isn't just for style. It helps save battery, especially on iPhones with OLED screens (like the iPhone X and newer models). OLED screens use less power to display dark colors.

So, switching to Dark Mode can help extend your battery life. It’s a simple setting that can make a big difference if you’re trying to get the most out of your iPhone’s battery.

How to Do It

  1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness.
  2. Select Dark to turn on Dark Mode.
  3. For automatic switching, choose Automatic and set a schedule. For example, from sunset to sunrise.
  4. You can also toggle Dark Mode by swiping down to open Control Center. Then, press and hold the brightness slider to find the Dark Mode icon.

With Dark Mode, you’re saving power and giving your eyes a break—especially in low-light settings!

🔄 3. Audit Background App Refresh to Stop Battery Drain

Why It’s Important

Some apps sneakily refresh in the background when not in use. This drains your battery.

Apps like social media, news, and weather often pull in updates.

This can be useful but isn't always necessary when you’re maximizing battery life.

By limiting which apps are allowed to refresh, you can save power for the apps you actually use throughout the day.

How to Do It

  1. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
  2. Look at the list of apps and decide which ones truly need background updates like messaging apps you use regularly.
  3. Turn off Background App Refresh for any apps that don’t need constant updating. Social media, games, and shopping apps are usually good ones to switch off.
  4. For maximum battery savings, consider switching Background App Refresh to Off entirely at the top of the screen.

A quick audit stops these background updates to save your battery and keep your iPhone running all day!

⚡ 4. Use Low Power Mode

Why It’s Important

Low Power Mode is your phone’s best friend when you need to make it through a long day without charging. It turns off non-essential features, giving you extra battery life.

How to Do It

  1. Go to Settings > Battery.
  2. Switch on Low Power Mode (you’ll know it’s on when the battery icon turns yellow).
  3. Turn on Low Power Mode early in the day if you know you’ll be out and about without a charger.

🔋 5. Invest in a Portable Charger for Busy Days

Why It’s Important

Sometimes the best solution is simply having a backup battery when you know you’ll be on the go. A portable charger is your ultimate backup plan.

How to Do It

  1. Look for a compact, lightweight portable charger, like those from Anker or Mophie.
  2. Choose one with at least 10,000mAh capacity to fully recharge your phone at least once.
  3. Keep it charged and carry it with you, so you’re never stuck with a dead battery again.

✨ One more thing

With these simple steps, you can easily make it through a busy day without worrying about your iPhone’s battery.

Try out a few of these tips, and you’ll be amazed at how much longer your phone lasts.

Say goodbye to the “Low Battery” warning, and hello to a fully powered day!

Until next time, see ya! 👋
